Recently, Stockholm University published a pamphlet outlining seven steps for promoting biodiversity and resilience. A more succinct version of the steps outlined in the book Principles for Building Resilience: Sustaining Ecosystem Services in Social-Ecological Systems (Cambridge University Press, 2014), the seven steps include: 1) maintaining diversity and redundancy, 2) managing connectivity, 3) managing slow variables and feedbacks, 4) fostering complex adaptive systems thinking, 5) encouraging learning, 6) broadening participation, and 7) promoting polycentric governance.
